Hi! I’m Janice Jensen, your Regional Coordinator for Membership and Early Careers in the Midwest Region of AGA!  

I want to be more proactive than I have the past few years as RC for Membership/Early Careers. I am a member of the Des Moines AGA Chapter since 1995. I enjoy participating in various functions and positions in the Des Moines Chapter. We struggle with maintaining our Chapter membership numbers, but we have a group of dedicated members who keep our Chapter quite active. I think it’s good to network with other chapters for ideas on membership retention, renewal and drawing in new members including those in the early career/college stage.

My goal this year is to generate communication between the Membership Directors in the Midwest Region’s chapters. I really think we can help each other to achieve successful results with chapter memberships. One activity I get involved in is the quarterly conference call with National AGA Office Staff and the various Regional Coordinators for Membership and Early Careers throughout the country. I am trying to include the conference call notes in our Regional website in addition to emailing Midwestern Region Chapter Membership Chairs.  

Let me know if you have questions or concerns I can address either with you or by consulting with other RCs for Membership.   Susan Fritzlen sent copies of the Chapter membership plans National had received earlier in the fall so I can share with you ideas from other Chapters if you’re looking for different approaches.
